AV-over-IP video wall platform · alternative

An alternative to VuWall.

VuWall (TRx range) drives video walls over AV-over-IP, usually licensed per node. If you are looking for a sovereign alternative, with a one-off payment and compatible with used hardware, EMD is built for exactly that.

The VuWall solution

VuWall offers a video wall management and AV-over-IP distribution platform, licensed per node or per encoder and decoder.

With EMD

EMD replaces the per-node licence with a lifetime licence, runs locally without the cloud, and works on standard hardware you already own or that we refurbish.

Why used

What VuWall does, and for whom

VuWall offers an image wall management and audiovisual distribution platform over IP. Its TRx software centralises the control of sources, encoders, decoders and walls, and the brand also supplies hardware wall controllers.

The platform targets control rooms, security centres, transport, education and business, especially when sources and screens are numerous and spread over a network.

Where the budget goes over ten years

In a model licensed per node, per encoder or per decoder, each source or screen added calls for hardware and a licence. Over ten years, you also have to count the network sized for video, update contracts and the renewal of the boxes at end of life.

With us, the software is bought once: a perpetual licence, paid only once (Control, €1,911 excl. VAT, see the prices), with no annual fee.

The rest is standard hardware, new or refurbished, which you replace piece by piece, from the supplier of your choice.

What we do differently

Easy Multi Display is a software publisher, not a hardware manufacturer. Our Drag & Drop software runs on a standard PC, under Windows or Linux, and drives from 1 to 40 screens on direct output, more with image wall controllers. Each wall is divided into 24 zones at most, saved as scenarios.

The sources are those of a command room: HDMI capture of business workstations, RDP remote desktop, VNC session, network streams, cameras, websites. Everything works with the network and the Internet cut. CollectivView even displays up to 40 HDMI sources with no network at all between the screens.

Keeping your VuWall, or complementing it

Distribution over IP remains relevant for a large number of sources spread across a building. For a crisis room with one wall and a few workstations, a PC connected by HDMI is often enough, and it keeps working with the network cut. The two approaches can coexist, for a transition or for the long term.

Compatible nodes, encoders, decoders and screens are easy to find second-hand, and we refurbish standard hardware for our installations. See our second-hand equipment page, or describe your room to us.

Frequently asked questions

VuWall and Easy Multi Display: your questions

Short answers to the questions we are asked most often about this equipment and about how we drive or replace it.

Does Easy Multi Display need encoders and decoders?

No, sources arrive directly on the PC by HDMI capture, RDP, VNC, network stream or website. CollectivView displays up to 40 HDMI sources with no network at all between the screens.

How much does a software alternative to VuWall cost?

The Easy Multi Display licence is perpetual, paid only once (Control, €1,911 excl. VAT). The hardware is standard, new or refurbished, and priced separately according to your room.

Do I need a subscription or an Internet connection for Easy Multi Display?

No, neither. The software, installed under licence, works locally, with the network and the Internet cut, with no subscription and no online account.

Does Easy Multi Display run on Linux?

Yes, it runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and 11 and on Linux, with the same functions. This makes it possible to follow the Windows exit policies under way in the public sector.
